Matrix, otherwise known as Classic Moving Services, and YBT Vanlines...SCAMMERS

These movers have also used the name Classic Moving Services, Beachwood, OH and YBT Vanlines, alias' probably due to the worst reviews online. Their DOT # has been revoked long ago. A family member used Classic for a move from the Northeast to Florida in 2015. They arrived in a Budget Truck, asked for more $$ right there, said she exceeded the estimated load so she gave them a personal check. They did not show up as promised in Florida, she waited a week at least, after some back & forth on the phone...promises made but never kept, they said they would deliver her belongings but she would have to pay at least a couple thousand more which included a redelivery charge (claimed they tried to deliver once...that had never happened.) Payment was cash or bank money order only. This was in August 2015. Since then she has tried to get her stuff, but after reading the reviews about Classic, we can see they are scam artists who are not trustworthy. (There is a Classic MOVERS, not Classic Moving Services who are reputable so it appears they count on people seeing favorable reviews and think it is the same company.) Her belongings were not worth the amount they were asking for, with the exception of sentimental photos, video tapes and her parent's cremains which they know they have (imagine, they are so scummy they would hold a dead person's ashes hostage.) She had a lawyer get involved and still nothing almost 2 years later. They were rude and uncooperative on the phone when she could reach them. From the rest of the reviews on several other sites, we can see that even if you do get your stuff, much of it is missing, broken, etc. From other reviewers on other sites, it seems that the base amount they will offer you as a settlement is in the $70 range..$71, $72, $77, $78....that must be their magic number, plus you must agree to not post anything negative about them on the internet. She never received her belongings and has learned, as you have, a very painful lesson. Check out those other alias' and you will see that they have scammed others for money, only to deliver belongings that were broken, not theirs and stuff "lost" stuff as well. These people suck.

THIEVES who STOLE $2,965 from me!!

Updated by user Oct 30, 2013

Well, here it is October of 2013 and I am still owed $2,200 of that $2,965 balance and it has been nothing but excuses after excuses.

The last time I spoke to them, they basically refused to repay me until I remove the negative reviews I posted online. But I am NOT going to do that, because this valid complaint is my only leverage with them -- and if I remove it under duress in the hopes of getting my money back, then they have no incentive to actually ever give me my money back!

So we've basically reached an impasse, with them essentially holding me hostage by refusing to repay their debt until the negative reviews removed, And me increasingly realizing that I've pretty much lost the $2,2000 for these crooks!

And the worst part is, because I live on disability, the money they stole from me was really important for my savings & future -- and now thanks to them I have little to nothing left! :(

For those looking for a trustworthy, professional movers, look elsewhere because Movers Are Us, are TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL! While their moving services itself were satisfactory, their accounting and record-keeping & business dealings are JUST THE OPPOSITE and TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!

Beware, BEWARE of Movers Are Us!

Updated by user Apr 10, 2013

An hour or so after I posted this review, Kingsley from Movers Are Us called me saying that he had gone to the bank to try to get a loan, in order to repay me, but that because the reviews I posted about this company said I lost the same amount he was applying for, the loan was denied.

So I took down this review from Yelp. But for whatever reason, this site will not let me delete the review as well. So I am posting this because as of this point, the company seems to be trying to make repayment in full, and I do NOT want to do anything to further hinder that.

BEWARE! BEWARE!! Beware! This company are THIEVES!! I hired them for a move in June 2012, and they charged me $300 as agreed-upon, beforehand. But then a month or so later, a charge of $2,965 appeared on my credit card from this company. I called to inquire, the manager, Kingsley was all apologetic claiming it was a mistake and that they had accidentally charged my card instead of another customer's card, and that they would immediately refund the amount in full, and I should wait a few days for the refund to appear on my account. So I waited, and NOTHING! So I called again, and this time, Kingsley told me that the person whose card they had originally intended to charge (instead of mine) for moving to Georgia, had provided them with fake card info (and in retrospect, the question is why didn't they check the validity of the card BEFORE moving them!), so though they filed a claim, they were unable to recover those funds unless they went to Georgia in person, and would have to pay me in installments, but that it would be paid in full by the end of that month (August 2012). Well here it is April of 2013 and I am still owed $2,200 of that $2,965 balance and it has been nothing but excuses after excuses. Kingsley claims that they don't have the money and are in tight financial straits, yet during a subsequent meeting to make an installment payment, I heard him talking about buying an iPhone! He has enough money to buy iPhones, but not repay wrongly-charged customers!! I trusted this company thinking it was a legitimate bonded moving company, but NEVER AGAIN!! I am basically OUT $2,200 for what was supposed to be a $300 move, and it would probably cost more for me to sue to recover that amount, than I would end up getting back from them at the end! For those looking for a trustworthy, professional movers, look elsewhere because Movers Are Us, are TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL! While their moving services were satisfactory, their accounting and record-keeping & business dealings are JUST THE OPPOSITE and TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL!! Beware, BEWARE of Movers Are Us!

Unfortunately I can't do that because I do not use a credit card to pay, I used my debit card and the bank won't do anything about it. :sigh
